Small, hard bump on the outer lips of vagina?

So, just two days ago I found this small hard lump on the outer lip of my vagina. It hadn't been slowly growing, it just came out of nowhere. There's no head there to pop and it's hard and feels like there's a tiny sized ball in there. It was kind of painful and tender to touch from the minute I got it. It's not red, it's skin color. Could it be a cyst? Will I need surgery, if I do, will it be very painful. If not, what can I do to get rid of it. And should I be worried?
