Can I go on with my day normally after plastic surgery on the ears?

I would like the have plastic surgery on my ear lobes and was wondering how fast after the procedure I can wear my hair up, show my ears without scars showing etc. ... because I don't know anything about plastic surgery. I will ask the institution of course within time, but I thought I'd ask it here first.
