Replacing the Abdominal Wall?

My mom called me today and told me that she is going to have to have surgery again. She has had multiple surgeries to get rid of hernias, and the doctor has decided that they are going to replace her abdominal wall with a new one from a cadaver. This sounds very strange to me, but apparently hers is just not strong enough anymore. Can anyone tell me more about this? I can't seem to find anything about it online. Thanx.
